About Us

Shri. K.C. Kuriakose, the founder of Cheerakuzhy Group of Nurseries, migrated from Kottayam District of Kerala to Mannarkkad in Palakkad District in 1971, when he was nearly 40 years old. He got settled in Karimpuzha Gram Panchayath which lies on the banks of river Kundhipuzha. This river originates from Attapadi high-ranges and flows through the dreary land of Palakkad making it fertile. He began to cultivate food crops like Tapioca, Pineapple, Plantain, Vegetables etc to earn a decent living. Later on, he was influenced and attracted by the subsidy system of the Rubber Board of India and he stepped into the field of Rubber Cultivation and nursery.

CheerakuzhyGroup of Nurseries was established in 1979 and started production with just 1000 Rubber plants. During the 1980s, he practiced several budding techniques in rubber such as Brown Budding and Green Budding.

Having tired of several experiments, in order to overcome the drawbacks of the age-old method of brown budding and green budding, our founder came out with a new method in rubber budding in 1994 called Cheerakuzhy Young Budding.This new technique made immense contribution to the nursery sector in India. Now, young budding is widely practiced in the production of most of the planting materials such as Rambutan, Jack Fruit, Nut meg, Longan, Avocado, Durian, Pulasan etc.

By2001, we stepped into the field of Horticulture and agriculture nursery and started the production and sales of all types of Ornamental and flowering plants and all types of fruit plants, especially, tropical and exotic fruits which are collected from different parts of the world.

For the production and sales of all other agriculture and horticulture plants, we have started a nursery at Mannarkkad – Palakkad National high way side in 2001. We have registered a private limited company in the name of Cheerakuzhy Agro Developers Pvt. Ltd for the development of this new venture. Mr. K.C. Kuriakose' s youngest son Mr. Jose cheerakuzhy is managing this new division and with his supervision this venture has flourished and started two more new production units at Attappadi high range for the production of different types of flowering plants in the name of Attappadi Nurseries pvt. Ltd and Valley de plants and flowers Pvt Ltd. The production of all types of fruit plants are managed at our mother nursery at Sreekrshnapuram (Palakkad Dt). Also ,we have started a nursery at Nilambur (Malappuram district) and sales showrooms at different parts of Kerala.

Now, we are proud to inform that the production/supply chain of our nursery is spread far and wide and we are capable of supplying the plants to anywhere in the world.
